I feel sick. Not because I had a stinker in Round 14. Not because I’m unsure what to do from here on out. No, I feel sick because, despite my measly efforts to produce a Fantasy score on the weekend, there were nearly 100,000 coaches who scored worse than me. The byes have clearly beaten us…

1371 – The number of times I swore looking at my score this weekend
I don’t want to talk about it…
Josh Kelly, Giants (MID, $769K – 138)
FOR those of you who pulled the trigger on a Josh Kelly move this week take a bow. He was on my radar, but I didn’t get to see his awesome 138 on my team sheet. Kelly’s pretty much a must have right now.
Jaeger O’Meara, Hawks (MID, $624K – 121)
EVERYONE (myself included) who doubted Jaeger O’Meara this preseason might be forced to eat crow. Nearly 15% of the competition benefited from his second straight 110+ score and are loving every minute of a healthy O’Meara. Interesting…
Kade Simpson, Blues (DEF, $666K – 125)
WE shouldn’t be surprised. Kade Simpson has been holding down Fantasy defenses for years. Expect the Blues veteran to do more of the same thing during the run home. Top-6 for sure.

Robbie Gray (FWD/MID, $561K – 62)
ANOTHER failure from Gray could spell the end for a ton of coaches. Four scores in the 60’s from his last five games have his value plummeting and if he can’t turn it around we might need to offload, fast.
Tom Mitchell (MID, $812K – 84)
WHAT happened Tom Mitchell? All signs pointed to a mammoth score at Tassie, but instead, you laid an egg. Sure, Touk Miller was pestering you, but you’re a Fantasy Pig. You are meant to shrug off those mosquitoes and ball out. Sigh.
Stefan Martin (RUC, $708K – 67)
UNFORTUNATELY I’m used to these scores from my second ruckman. However, after trading Sam Jacobs into Martin last week I thought better times were ahead. Stef has got to be big against Fremantle to redeem himself.
THE enormous breakeven’s of Jack Macrae (MID, $817K – BE 201) and Rory Sloane (MID, $665K – BE 164) leave them alone at the top of the pile. Popular players including Ed Curnow (MID, $722K – BE 156), Toby McLean (MID/FWD, $670K – BE 152) and Tom Mitchell (MID, $812K – BE 148) are all high up on the list, so if you are looking to invest it’s wise to wait.

VALUE for money picks this round include defenders Mason Redman (DEF, $261K – BE -15) and Joel Smith (DEF/MID, $220K – BE 11). Redman could miss with an ankle worry, but if not lock and load. Look for Stefan Giro (MID, $253K – BE -4), Patrick Wilson (MID/FWD, $185K – BE 11) or Josh Battle (FWD, $232K – BE -9) as other money making options.
JOSH Kelly (MID, $739K – L3 133.3) is the form player right now and is head and shoulders above his peers. Sneakily Ollie Wines (MID, $672K – L3 125.7) is on fire along with the likes of Elliot Yeo (DEF/MID, $700K – L3 113), Max Gawn (MID, $719K – L3 112) and Devon Smith (FWD/MID, $699K – L3 109.7).
Quickfire Trade Thoughts
IN – FORM, price and back-to-back big scores make Josh Kelly (MID, $769K – 138) a must have and he isn’t going to get any cheaper. If you can grab him do it now. I like the looks of Clayton Oliver (MID, $710K – 93) and Dayne Beams (MID, $695K – 113) as other unique midfielders. In other lines, there is some serious value on offer. Up forward Michael Walters (MID/FWD, $572K – DNP) is ripe for the picking off his suspension/bye. Expect big things right away while in defense Michael Hurley (DEF, $567K – 89) has shrugged off injury worries and looms as a top-6 defender chance.
PREVIOUSLY mentioned rookies are all good options with Joel Smith (DEF/MID, $220K – 27) the pick of the bunch if Mason Redman (DEF, $261K – 71) misses. The other three Stefan Giro (MID, $253K – BYE), Patrick Wilson (MID/FWD, $185K – BYE) or Josh Battle (FWD, $232K – BYE) are all options if named.

OUT – IT might be time to move Robbie Gray (FWD/MID, $561K – 62) and/or Stephen Coniglio (MID, $698K – 71). The pair seems to have lost a step and along with Marcus Bontempelli (MID, $593K – 67) are fast bleeding money. Matthew Kreuzer (RUC, $605K – 42) might be facing time out with an ankle injury and is a must trade if he misses.
IT’S time to get rid of any leftover cash cows who have reached their peak. That includes Tim Kelly (MID, $496K – BYE) and Tom Doedee (DEF, $450K – BYE), especially because they can potentially be turned into something decent. Matt Guelfi (FWD/MID, $439K – 64) fits the bill as well after serving his job. The Eagles boys Liam Ryan (FWD, $363K – 30) and Willie Riolo (FWD, $351K – 46) plus Saints pair Bailey Rice (DEF, $341K – BYE) and Logan Austin (DEF, $391K – BYE) are next in line.
- AS I mentioned Matthew Kreuzer’s busted ankle isn’t great and more news should surface soon. If you’re an owner prepare to trade though. Originally we feared the worst for Adam Treloar who went down with what we thought was a bad hamstring injury. However, Bucks informs us it’s just cramp and he’ll be fine. Shaun Burgoyne suffered a hamstring injury of his own along with late replacement Billy Hartung for the Roos.
- NOT Fantasy relevant, but Harris Andrew’s found himself KO’d on the weekend and Jeremy Cameron could be facing a long stint on the sidelines. Some might have Cameron in Draft and he could be banned for up to a month for whacking Andrews with his forearm in a marking contest.
- MY moves this week are very interesting, I can start to downgrade rookies with a double down on the cards. Turning Guelfi into Walters or Hurley is tempting though and if I part with Fritsch it lands me Kelly. Fingers crossed I can bounce back.
Good luck in Round 15!
