IT may have only been four games, but last week I had my first perfect week. This weekend things get back to normal. The All Star weekend is behind us now with regular NBA action resuming, plus some intriguing match ups in the college basketball world. Here we go.

Last Week: 4-0

Overall: 79-56

NBA

San Antonio Spurs @ Los Angeles Lakers
THE Spurs have been dominant against the Lakers as of late, winning the last seven against them and are on a six game winning streak at Staples. Those streaks will continue on Sunday.
Verdict: Spurs W

Phoenix Suns @ Milwaukee Bucks
MILWAUKEE are still trying to adjust to life without Jabari Parker and with Khris Middleton. They are easily the more talented team, but I have a hunch Bledsoe is going to have a huge night.
Verdict: Suns W

Memphis Grizzlies @ Denver Nuggets
ADDING Mason Plumlee was a move the Nuggets made to climb the West playoff rankings. To do that they have to start beating teams above them, like the Grizzlies. They won’t get the job done in this match though.
Verdict: Grizzlies W

NBA: Brooklyn Nets at Denver Nuggets

Utah Jazz @ Washington Wizards
STICKING with trade moves to help playoff spots, the Wizards getting Bojan Bogdanovic to boost their second unit was great. An interesting clash against Utah should be fun to watch with the home squad getting up.
Verdict: Wizards W

Portland Trailblazers @ Toronto Raptors
NO Kyle Lowry, but new guys P.J. Tucker and Serge Ibaka will be on display in the Raptors win here.
Verdict: Raptors W

Boston Celtics @ Detroit Pistons
BOSTON stood pat at the trade deadline, opting to not deal for another superstar piece. They should make easy work of the Pistons.
Verdict: Celtics W

New Orleans Pelicans @ Oklahoma City Thunder
OUR generations version of the ‘Twin Towers’ hit the road to take on the walking triple double and his new teammates. Boogie and the Brow are 0-2 so far in their partnerships. Expect them to be 0-3 after this game.
Verdict: Thunder W

Charlotte Hornets @ Los Angeles Clippers
LAST but not least…..well actually this game is the least interesting on Sunday. Clips.
Verdict: Clippers W

College

Syracuse Orange @ #7 Louisville Cardinals
AFTER a heart stopping win against Duke on Wednesday, Syracuse is riding the momentum into the clash with the Cardinals. Unfortunately for them, their momentum will be brought to a screeching halt against Louisville.
Verdict: Cardinals W

#15 Cincinnati Bearcats @ UCF Knights
HEADING into the weekend UCF holds opponents to the best shooting percentage in the country at 36.3%. That is helped by the 7’6 beast in the middle they deploy in Tacko Fall. I’m tipping an upset here.
Verdict: Knights W

#22 Butler Bulldogs @ Xavier Musketeers
BUTLER just upset the #2 seeded Villanova and Xavier has lost four straight. Enough said.
Verdict: Bulldogs W

#16 Wisconsin Badgers @ Michigan State Spartans
IN large part it has been a season to forget for Michigan State. Tom Izzo’s guys are sitting at 17-11 going into this match, but they will have reason to smile after Sunday improving to 18-12.
Verdict: Spartans W

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ #21 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
TWO of the coolest college nicknames play in an irrelevant match for the majority of college basketball fans. That’s all.
Verdict: Fighting Irish W
