What We Know About The BIG3 League So Far

I’M going to be honest, when Ice Cube announced that he was creating a competition with former NBA players I peed my pants a little. Nostalgia instantly kicked in with potential players and possibilities for Cube’s project and over the past few days we have more of an idea on how things will be structured.

Structure/Rules

SO far we know that the BIG3 league will be made up of eight teams that will tour the country playing in eight different cities. Those eight teams all play once per city so fans get a chance to see their favourite former heroes ball out and at the end of the eight week season there will be a playoff and championship game. Most of the rules are similar but there are a few cool new tweaks they are adding. Normal one, two and three point shots are the same, but a 4-point shot will be included. The winner is determined by the first team to reach 60 points, however each team must win by four and half time occurs when one team reaches 30 points. Also there are no foul out limits, with players awarded free throws once a team accumulates five team fouls. Any tech foul equals two shots and possession and any tech foul on the same team from then on results in four shots and possession.
