ANOTHER offseason means another massive list of free agents. 2018 sees some of the biggest stars in the league hit the open market and the decisions of this year’s free agents could change the landscape of the entire league. Outside of the household names, there is plenty of value to be found outside of the top few, with some key contributors out there for hire. Here is my NBA Free Agent Tracker for the 2018 offseason!

Who Is Still On The Board?

Clint Capela, Houston Rockets, C

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 6

Stats: 13.9 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 1.9 BPG
Free agent type: Restricted

ONE of the most improved and efficient players last season was Rockets big man Clint Capela. At just 24 years old, NBA teams with cap space are lining up to offer the restricted free agent a serious payday. It would be a mistake for Houston to let him walk, but as salary cap pressure mounts, they might be left with no choice.

Who’s Interested?

 Marcus Smart, Boston Celtics, PG

Philadelphia 76ers v Boston Celtics

Stats: 10.2 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 4.8 APG
Free agent type: Restricted

THERE’S no denying that the pesky Marcus Smart is one of the best defenders in the entire league. Smart has carved out the reputation as a gritty, scrappy guard in Boston and his presence on that side of the ball makes up for his shooting concerns.

Who’s Interested?

Rodney Hood, Cleveland Cavaliers, SG

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 27

Stats: 14.7 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 1.6 APG
Free agent type: Restricted

HOOD’S free agency is semi-frozen until LeBron makes his decision. If the Cavs can keep James then it’s likely they won’t match a healthy offer for Hood. However, if they lose James, then keeping Hood as a cog in their rebuild might be smart.

Who’s Interested?

Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat, SG

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 29

Stats: 11.4 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 3.4 APG
Free agent type: Unrestricted

AT this point in his career leaving the Heat makes no logical sense for Dwyane Wade. He is destined to spend the rest of his days jumping on the scorer’s table at the American Airlines Arena until he’s had enough.

Who’s Interested?

Montrezl Harrell, L.A. Clippers, PF

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 35

Stats: 11.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 1.0 APG
Free agent type: Restricted

THERE is a lot to like about Montrezl Harrell in LA. As a restricted free agent I think that the Clippers will match any offer on the energetic prospect, who could take over the starting job should DeAndre Jordan bounce.

Who’s Interested?

Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks, PF

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 37

Stats: 12.0 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.6 APG
Free agent type: Team Option (declined)

I would be stunned if Dallas didn’t pick up their team option for just $5 million to secure Nowitzki comes back for a 21st season. If they don’t commit though Dirk will still be back as a Maverick on a different deal. Surely.

Who’s Interested?

Michael Beasley, New York Knicks, SF/PF

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 38

Stats: 13.2 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.7 APG
Free agent type: Unrestricted

SOME teams are throwing their hat into the ring for the Michael Beasley sweepstakes. It’s no surprise that these teams are cellar dwellers who have money to burn and he isn’t a terrible choice for someone who needs an empty 20 points a night with plenty of viral moments.

Who’s Interested?

Greg Monroe, Boston Celtics, C

2018 NBA Free Agent Tracker 41

Stats: 10.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 2.2 APG
Free agent type: Unrestricted

WE all know that Monroe can get buckets in the low post area who grabs his fair share of rebounds. However, there isn’t a ton of demand for a player with these skills, which is part of the reason Monroe played for three teams last season.
