THE NFL Combine came to a close over the weekend and there was plenty to take away from Indianapolis. Under performers and over achievers fluctuate throughout mock drafts across the globe as we try to figure out who is the real deal.

Winners

Haason Reddick, LB, Temple

PERHAPS the guy that improved his stock the most at the combine, Haason Reddick blew the competition out of the water. Among linebackers his 4.52 40 yard dash (1st overall), 36.5′ vertical jump (3rd overall) and 11.08 broad jump (1st overall) helped boost his name from late first rounder to top 20 pick. Kudos Reddick.

Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

WATSON is heading into the NFL with plenty of expectations and uncertainties. He helped Clemson win the National Title against the closest thing to an NFL defense college has to offer in Alabama. Yet we all know his big game potential and he stepped up at the combine delivering pin point passes that wowed scouts. He flashed his athleticism  in the 40 yard dash (4.66) and may have secured a spot as the first QB taken come draft night.

Cleveland Browns

AFTER Myles Garrett tested off the charts he guaranteed that the Cleveland Browns would be getting an incredible blue chip prospect with the first overall pick. The only way they could stuff this up is if they go full Cleveland on us. Take Garrett and don’t even think twice.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

WHILE some of the numbers didn’t jump off the page, it was the receiving drills that helped Christian McCaffrey stand out. Already labelled as a dual threat back, who can return punts, McCaffrey was perhaps the best in the receiving drills throughout the entire combine with his clean hands. From all reports he interviewed well and more than likely locked himself into the first round with this performance.

Losers

Teams that were chasing Garoppolo 

EARLY reports from the Patriots and anyone close to the source are that the team has no plans to part with the coveted back up QB. New England has no need to trade him and should onto him, but for teams that were (and probably still are) interested you will have to shop elsewhere.

Rueben Foster, LB, Alabama

A blow up over impatience waiting for his medical could cost Foster the most out of any draft prospect. Apparently fed up with standing in line, Foster got into a heated argument with medical officials and was told to pack his bags before testing for a single drill. He has since apologised and invited NFL teams to come meet him before Alabama’s pro day to answer any questions they have, but the hit to his reputation may have cost him from begin a top 10 pick.

Teez Tabor, CB, Florida

ANOTHER player who faces questions about his character in Teez Tebor needed to test well to prove his worth in the NFL. His athleticism has never been a strong point, but everyone still expected him to perform better than he did. Tebor looked anything but fluid in his workouts and ran 4.62 for his 40, which may lead some teams to opt for other corners should they be tossing up between Tebor and another prospect.

Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington

AFTER breaking almost every possible receiving record at FCS level including reeling in 6,464 receiving yards and 73 touchdowns Kupp seemed destined for success at the NFL. However, many people wondered if the inferior competition was a reason for his inflated stats and a mixed bag of results from the combine further created doubts in the minds of GM’s. An underwhelming 40 time (4.62) damaged his potential to be labelled as an outside receiver threat and instead paint the picture that he is better suited to a slot receiver or WR3. He could still be great, but the numbers hurt him.
